How do I set up a Dial-in connection to the University?
Solution: Follow the instructions provided for you here. If you have any problems with those instructions, please contact the ICT Service Desk.
How do I access My documents off-campus?
Solution:
Access is provided through FTP using Windows Internet Explorer or Apple Safari web browsers
ftp://mydocuments.canterbury.ac.nz
Follow the Apple Safari self help instructions if you have a Mac computer at home
Follow the Internet Explorer self help instructions if you have a PC computer at home.
How do I change my password?
Solution: Use the Change Password feature on the My Account page. ICT Services recommends that you change your password on a regular basis to ensure your security. You are liable for any charge accumulated against your computer account.
I cannot open Mozilla on the University email servers under my student user name.
Solution:
You need to reset your email preferences.
Please do the following.
- Log out of your computer
- Log on onto your computer
- Double click Blue "Help" Folder on the Desktop
- Double click Reset Thunderbird Preferences
- Restart Mail in the normal way.
If this fails, please come to the Loft or the ICT Service Desk to fix this problem.
