Email scam alert
(18 October 2013)
There have been widespread reports of users receiving a scam email purporting to be from the “UC Webmail Team” with the subject “UC Security Alert !”. The email informs the user their account quota is almost full, and invites them to upgrade their quota by clicking on a link. The link is a scam which directs to a non-UC site, and should not be clicked. Legitimate IT mailbox size warnings will never ask you to visit such a link. Please be careful visiting links in emails and opening attachments, and if you have any doubts about an email please contact the IT Service Desk.

Personal wireless hotspots
(1 March 2013)
We have a strong campus wireless network, but as with all such networks its performance can be affected by other transmission sources. To ensure that the network signal remains as strong as possible for you and everyone else, when on campus please deactivate any personal wireless hotspots or ad hoc wireless networks you have on your mobile devices or laptops.
